These are also great ideas for students who can do the math work above but struggle with explaining it.

Lastly, it is effective to have students solidify their understanding by doing hands-on and real-world applications.

1. Here is a great link to practice all of the skills outlined in this toolkit for more practice.
2. Use any data set of interest for yourself from data.gov and find measures of center, and spread, or create histograms of topics of interest to you.
3. The US Census Bureau has data sets on its website. You could find a topic of interest and describe the data set using measures of center, measures of spread, and create histograms.
4. Google Dataset Search collects data from external sources and provides a summary of what is available, descriptions of the data, who it’s provided by, and when it was last updated.
5. Earth data provides access to all of NASA’s satellite observation data for our Earth. These data sets can be analyzed for measures of center, measures of spread, and histograms of topics in space that are of interest to you!
