More than 70% of Fountain-Fort Carson School District 8 students in El Paso County are connected to the military. The school district worked with legislators to create the Purple Star Schools program, which was passed into law this last legislative session. Assistant Superintendent Joel Hamilton discusses what the Purple Star Schools program will mean to Fountain-Fort Carson and what Memorial Day means to him as a 30-year Army veteran.
