Reaching All Learners - Offered by Roots and Wings Consulting, LLC

Program Description

Participants will explore language acquisition theory, differentiation and scaffolding to make information comprehensible, creating a strong foundation upon which to build critical thinking skills across the curriculum. They will understand how students’ diverse cultures, backgrounds, and languages are assets to the classroom community. They will examine stages of language acquisition, learn how to interpret ACCESS scores, collaboratively create data-driven language and academic goals, and create resources to make vocabulary meaningful, building oral and written language skills in a language-rich learning environment. Participants will collaborate with colleagues and implement and reflect upon new ELD strategies for upcoming units.
